engine/tranny mount washers

How many of those big washers do I need on my motor and transmission mounts? When I dropped the engine I only had 1 one each corner. Wayne's diagram shows 2 per corner. After some searching I found others who only had 1 per corner. Is this model year dependent? On the chassis for the tranny mounts it looks like a washer is welded to the chassis, so why do I need another?

The engine mounts use two of the "washers" one on either side of the mount. The tranny just uses one on the bottom side of the mount.

Search did not help so I'll follow on to this thread, although I'm asking about the G50 on my '88. I have the 4 washers out and just noticed that there are two that are basically smooth and tow that have a raised area near the center where the large bolt goes through. Can someone with a G50 tell me which washers go on which side of the rubber disc thing in the tranny mount. From the diagram in the Porsche parts catalogue it sort of looks like the smooth washer goes below and the one with the raised section goes on top but that's not a very detailed diagram and I want to make sure since there appears to be a susbstantial difference in the two versions.
TIA

Maybe this will help. Its my '88 G50 with the Pelican PEL-RSRMTM poly-graphite mounts. You can see which washer I used on the bottom. Pretty sure itwas the same washer on the bottom with the factory mounts I replaced.

Good Luck
Andrew

Andrew, thanks, it looks like from your pic the "smooth" washer is used on the bottom which is what I was thinking.
thanks,
