Front Jack Point Question
I know it has been visited a thousand times but I just want to make sure I'm going to use the right point to jack up my car and not damage anything.
This point is right behind the front wheel. Is this a safe point to jack the front up on my 88 911? I'm guessing this is the point designed for a four point lift, but is it safe to jack on? ![]() ![]() Thanks. V.

I use the jack pad inserted in the jack hole just in front of the rear tires. This lifts the whole side of the car, front and rear together.

Yes you can jack the car up there.

I do not have these jack points shown on the photo. Is that normal?

It is safe to jack the front at that point, just be sure to not crush the oil line.

Like Mark stated,......I, too, lift the entire side FIRST, then apply the other points at the jack points listed within the Bentley,..this pic is easily found with a search (or a book-look)....
I've used this point once before as additional support, not primary,..still: the Bentley pic will take you "home", as to what's SAFE. Doyle

on an older car put a piece of 2x4 between the tub and jack at the flats in the corners, lift there

I use a hockey puck in the same area as the photo and jacking one side lifts the entire front end high enough to place the jack stands.
