Looking for an educated guess
I just got my sc out of storage and was about 50 miles into my cruise when it died at a stop light downtown (luckily close to my home). It was starting to get dark and was pulling up to a cop so I turned the headlights on and the car died. The car would not turn over. The battery seems fine. All the accessories like the headlights and radio worked fine but still won't turn over. Alternator is only a year old. It was running excellent prior to this except for one issue. The last 10 miles I noticed the tach to started swinging back and forth an malfunctioning. Could it be the transmission ground strap? or .... ? I was able to find a parking stall to push it in but will let it sit for the evening any thoughts are greatly welcome.

If the battery wasn't being charged while in storage I'd put a full charge on it first and see what happens.

The first hint that a failing alternator on my '82 had run the battery flat was a wildly ossiliating tachometer. Battery had enough juice to work accessories, but not to start the car.
