So the rear seats in my (new to me) Euro-spec Carrera 3.2 have seat backs that can pivot down. I removed them today get a little more luggage room in the back (and save a few pounds
), and while cleaning them I noticed this on the inside of the carpet flap.![]() Looks like either 'Cellole' or 'Collole'. Anyone know what this is or means? I'm not certain of the seat backs are OEM, or aftermarket. Apologies if this is common knowledge, but a search didn't bring up any results... |

No idea.
What I can tell you is I didn't have a signature on my rear seats

I'm not sure how you'd get Cerullo from that... but I guess I have to chalk this up as one of those mysteries that well never be solved. *spooky x-files music*

Alot of times the craftsmen who worked on your car or made the interior or installed it, would sign there name. Kind of pride in workmanship.

Sorry about that. The picture didn't show up when I saw the post the first time.
![]() Given that, I have no idea on what that means.

Oh well, I guess it was to much to hope for the following response: "Oh my God! Those are seats signed by the world famous Cellole! They are worth one meeeeellion dollars!".

Adlof Collole worked in the Porsche plant in Stutguart from 1982-2003 when he retired as production supervisor of interior and leather procruerment. a gifted seemstress, he would work for days at a time to ensure all the needed interiors are finished correctly. And only then, he would sign every one.
that sig. is worth alot!

I used to own an Aston Martin DB4 and every piece of wood on the seat frames had penciled on it "438" which was the serial number of the car. It wouldn't surprise me if it was indeed a workers autograph. Unlike American cars where the workers used to had a wrench or piece of metal from a wire in a void in the car so it would rattle when driven.

Hers is one to go with HughR's thread.
In the eightys Ford-Lincoln-Mercury had a rash of engine fires on the Tarus/Sable line of cars. They did a fuel injector seal recall to address the problem. My friend bought a Sable that had an engine fire while coming off of the transporter at dealer delivery. The fire company was able to save the car with minimal damage. He bought it with under 20 miles for a very good price. I helped him pull the engine to facilitate cleanup, harness replacement etc. We found what looked like a burned shoe box of burned rags stuffed between the exhaust/cat and the firewall.
