Sliverknit, or not to Slivernit?
I'm having trouble determining the type of carpet I have in my 911. I assume that its "SliverKnit", but the pile pictured in Pelican Parts parts catalogue (and others) looks to have a lot shorter pile length - 3mm vs. about 6mm in my car (refer photos below). I tried to find out what type was fitted from the factory, but the records from Porsche are unclear. Does anyone know where I can source original carpet material? The front mats in my car are well "past their use-by date" as can be seen. The rest of the carpet is in perfect condition.

sounds like you have the same long pile I had in my 75 911S,I think it is hard to get now so the shorter pile used on the later cars is available. In the UK it is nicknamed Teddy bear carpet, and it looks pretty good.Regards John

Bump...anyone with suggestions where I still might be able to source the older Slivernit?
