Paint code help
here's the skinny.
80 SC. Paint to sample from the factory. COA had paint code as 9999. Door jamb plaque has 165-9-3. The "legend" passed along, as i am the 3rd owner, was the car was painted to match the 1st owners Mercedes. The closest thing I can find by eye online is a Mercedes paint code 422 of Byzantine Gold Metallic. Vin# 91A0140719 built 10/79 Any help ASAP would be appreciated. Trying to get her on the track next week. TIA some pics for color reference: ![]() ![]() ![]()

It appears to be a one-off custom code to me, but I'll keep checking.

Thanx for the effort. On my friends (old body guy) advice I went to the local auto body supply with a piece of the car and they used the camera to come up with something close. The computer came up with a 1982 Lotus color and tweaked it. Up close its a bit more metallic than the factory paint but its close enough. My ez-up acted as an instant paint booth and we got it done.
