Showing off my '77 Carrera 3.0

I haven't had a chance to get any good pictures of my car recently and we finally had some nice weather this past weekend. I have seen very few Carrera 3.0s posted on this board, I guess because they were never officially imported to the US. Here is my beast of burden, labor of love, whatever you want to call it. An interior shot:

What a car. Congrats. Let us know where you started and what has been done. Also curious to hear how you acquired it and where.

Thanks for the compliments. Everybody that sees it loves the full white interior, as do I. I found the car locally and didn't realize what it was until I purchased it. Upon digging through the 20k in receipts and documents I figured out it was imported in '84 into Colorado, then around 92 was brought to TN where it lived with the same owner until I acquired it. The rear wiper is original. It also has factory green tinted glass, but you can't tell it in the pics. It has the orginal 3.0 liter 930/02 engine that came in the car, but was rebuilt about 30k miles ago with all updates; pop off, tensioners, 11 blad fan, turbo valve covers, 964 cam It had new calipers, stainless brake lines, turbo tie rods, and 16x7 and 16x8 FUCHS. Since I've owned it I've installed a Mocal front cooler in place of the trombone, starter, fuel pump, accumulator, new Sachs clutch kit, clutch cable, had the original 5 speed 915 rebuilt with all dog teeth and synchros. I think that is about it. I also picked up a Carrera 3.0 badge but haven't put that on yet because the rear deck lid has never been drilled for any badges. The items I have let are new bilsteins and sunroof cables.

Looks like a great car. I searched for a C3.0 for many months without success and ended up with an SC last summer. Somehow feels a little empty without finding that Carrera of my dreams | ||

Man, I like it, but don't even think about getting around it (or in it) with anything dirty. Nice car. Karl 88 Targa

Yes Karl, dirty hands are this cars worst nightmare. geoz - Nice to see somebody knows what a roll of duct tape in the floorboard is for. Amazing how many different sized cups it works with. I've used that trick in many old vehicles. Kiwiokie - sorry you didn't find a C3. From what I can tell they are very hard to find in the states if you are looking. The few owners I've spoken with lucked upon their cars as well.
