Where is the 1- in, 1-out muffler diagram or cutaway?
I found this one on at least 20 threads. I've seen pics of the later muffler, but not the whole schematic like this drawing of the 2 in design.
![]() What is specifically different on the later 1-in model. |

One more request. I don't know what happened to the graphic I copied into the first post. It was there yesterday.
Need cutaway for one in- one out muffler. |

Not all the same
Milt,
A couple of the above pictures are from when I modified a 1 in / 1 out to dual out: SC, Carrera Bischoff Muffler Modification, Mod, Gut, Gutting, Dual, Two Out From what I found, internal layout of the mufflers can be significantly different from year to year, by the same manufacturer. Gordo

2 in 2 out diagram
David, I have since updated my sketch to a drawing of the Dansk modification. It's easier to read - don't you think? (I just had to bring it up to the drawing level, of world famous sculptor Jeff Gamble - who did the often duplicated pre-1974 design)

The bottom pipe (inlet) is capped; exhaust is routed/forced through the holes. The top pipe (outlet) is open. Pictured in the above link I provided. Gordo

thx Don.
Just opening up that cap should basically make it a sport muffler. I belive some of the 1/1's had a loop with holes that conected the two tubes. |

Even Flow
It isn't apparent from the pictures, but I did some significant re-routing of the internal flow to get even distribution out of both outlets/tailpipes (the outlet pipes are like one long pipe, drilled at the center chamber to allow the exhaust to exit out both tailpipes evenly).
I imagine it would be much easier to get relatively even flow with sport outlets since both outlets would be feeding off of the central chamber. Gordo
