Connector Help

Attached I have a vac hose diagram.
Bottom left corner there is a round thing with two hoses.
The #4 arrows are pointing to it.
I looked it up. Thermo Valve.

On the back side there is a connector.
IT GOES IN BOTH WAYS??
There is a logo on one side of the plug.

This is above the center cylinder on drivers side of car.

What is this thing?
and
Which way does the plug go?

Thanks in advance.

You're right. Thermovalve.

Basically it has a bimetal element inside which literally pops open and allows vacuum to pass to the warm up regulator when it gets hot enough - dependent on temperature of course. It's purpose is to keep things rich for a little while during startup and it remains open as long as there is 12VDC at the connector.

I cannot remember exactly, but I don't think it should matter which way the connector plugs in.

jess is correct. it makes it run rich for cold start ups. very much needed up where you are.
i dont think the plug matters, it is not keyed.
the port on the TB that it is connected to looks to be in question unless it is different for yours than mine.
