Timing for a 2.2E??

I have been trying to find a chart or some info on the correct timing angle for my 2.2E, but I am having troubles. I have 101, but it says to look at the spec book, which I don't have.
Does anyone know what I should set the timing at?? It's my first time.

If you are referring to ignition timing, the factory spec for a 1970/71 911E and 911S is 30 degrees BTDC at 6000 rpm.

Is 10 degrees at 800rpm to much?? The sticker on my engine says 5 deg.

You need a strobe light and time it for max advance, previous post. Only safe way for your motor.

w/ no vacuum advance the idle timing will fall where it will. 800 is, i think, a touch low for idle.

variations can be caused by a sticky advance mechanism. imo if there is any doubt you should have the dizzy rebuilt (or do yourself if you can) to include cleaning up the advance mech. while you're at it you can have the rebuilder check the advance curve so you KNOW what you've got.

i tend to be nervous about my timing and i throw a light on my car several times a year to see where i'm at. learned just how quickly points wear by doing this.

The graph shows DISTRIBUTOR speed and anvance so you need to double the numbers to get ENGINE speed and advance.

On the graph, 3000 rpm is 6000 engine speed, 15 degrees is 30 on the engine.

Also, the 2 lines show the range, so anything in between is good for either E or S
