Any suggestions for Fuel Line replacement - CIS FD to injectors

I replaced my intake manifold gaskets, fuel injection seals, and injector sleeves this week (trying to eliminate vaccum leaks). In the process, I broke the fuel line from the WUR to the fuel distributor.

I was able to cut the end off the line and reconnect to the barbed fitting on the WUR but I want to replace all of those hard plastic lines with new lines. When I check Pelican, they only cary the lines for cylinders 1,2, & 3.

So, I started searching the internet and there is a huge price variance ranging from $85 each to $25 each. I'm wondering why this is and what have others done.

Since were dealing with fuel, I don't want to take chances but I would like to hear if there are alternative options (ie., fabricating metal, etc..).

Thanks.......Vern

A bought them all new a few years ago for what seemed like reasonable money, don't remember where. They are nominally hard plastic, so don't let that scare you too much. Having said that, they are quite old at this point! Some recommend buying nylon tubing and making your own, search around a bit her or on other boards. Even at high $, better than a fuel/air bomb in your tail!

Scroll down to the bottom of post 377 here to see some really nice Greg Brown lines.

Found 30 Years Later

Last time I searched, they seemed a bit pricey.

cheapest and fastet way, go to car quest, they have high press. black plastic air brake line for big trucks, rated at like 600lb, metric sizes, (i think 4mm id worked) works great, just cut to fit.

Any idea of how well those hoses resist ethanol? I'd like to take that into account.

Vw Dealer, I have been told has the fuel line. Check manufacturer specs on air brake line, when I did mine I was going to use it but the specs said NOT approved for fuel delivery. HTH

The lines are nylon 6/6T. I believe MSC carries these lines in bulk in metric sizes.

My "air brake line" has been holding up well on mine and several others now going on 7 yrs. But good point, make sure you buy good hose that is "oil impervious" ? i think thats what it said on the bulk box I bought. (at Car Quest)
