Fog Light Relay Question
Hi guys just received my new turn signal switch. I am going to replace the old tomorrow, and I have a relay kit to fit as well as I have H4's. However I have a relay installed which I am guessing is for the factory fog lights. Only thing is one wire is loose from this relay and I dont know where it goes? Also the colours of the cables going to the relevant fuse holders for the relay kit dont seem right. Pics posted can anyone advise I am mechanically inclined not electrically but if I get the right pointers I can do this....

The color coded wire the PO used is .... interesting if not confusing.
Until you can ID the wires, wrap some electrical tape around the exposed wire conductor or check with a test light to confirm it's not connected to source voltage. Temporarily remove the relay so you can ID the relay terminal numbers and the wire path for each terminal. The relay should have the typical DIN code numbers, 30, 85, 86, 87, 87A. Let us know. Ok so got the switch changed what a PITA that was. So now pull headlight switch half way got low beam, pull all the way out got high beam when switch pushed forward, bright driving lights, flash when pulling on the stalk. Now indicators come on but do not blink when headlight switch pulled out but not when switch pushed in. I had to walk away from it because I was getting P&^#$%d off with it. Will try again tomorrow. Have not fitted relay yet but must admit when headlights on now with ignition on they are drawing a hell of a lot of juice, enough so that after 5 minutes of fault finding with ignition on car would not start. Please please please help....

Well getting closer now. All lights working even the fogs, the wire circled in the pic above was the feed to the relay from the battery, somehow it got pulled off the spade. I fitted the relay kit this am all fine easy job and as I was connecting the batery lead for the relay noticed a spade with no wire on the +ve side of bettery, well turned out to be for the fog light relay. Still blinkers staying on when lights on, no blinkers when light switch off. Hazards work and blink though so relay is good. Think I must have got a wire crossed behind the light switch. I am posting pics of the headlight switch #1 straight ahead #2 turned 90 deg clockwise and #3 turned 90 deg anticlockwise from original position. If anyone has their switch pulled and wired correctly can you check the colour coding and position of mine and let me know if I have screwed up?
