Question re: ignition wire insulators?
Does anyone know what the insulators/covers are called that insulate/cover the three ignition wires running to the passenger side plugs as they traverse over the shroud on the fan on the 3.2 engine in an '88 carrera. Can't find these on any parts diagrams, called Pelican Tech/customer service and they said they are part of the plug wires. However, mine are cracked and parts are broken and I would like to replace them without replacing the wires as the wires seem to be working fine.
Any help on what they are called and if they can be purchased and installed separately are much appreciated. Also, if anyone knows whether or not they are necessary. The only reason I can see for them is to add a level of protection over the fan shroud due to any potential discharge of electro-static charge or heat from the fan shroud. Thanks! |

I don't know exactly what they are called, but I believe they are part of the OEM Beru wires. They are not so much "insulators", as they are "guides". I don't know if they can be purchased separately from our host...it's possible you may need to actually purchase the (very expensive) Beru wires???

They are called wire separators. They have a part number, but not sure if Pelican carries them.
