Another newbie question(s)
Hi: Just realized that this part which I think is called the blower, is not attached at the top and the accordian hose is shot too. What effects is my engine suffering by this?
What does this blower do? How do I reattach at the top? Thanks.   nf '82 SC RoW |

That's the blower for your heating system. The car will suffer no ill effects from the condition it's in right now. Your heating will be less than perfect though. Many guys remove/modify the system to get rid of that assembly for a cleaner and easier to work on engine compartment. I would pick up a Haynes or better yet Bentley manual that covers all the basic "disasembly/reassembly" topics. You can't really hurt much by jumping in and working with that system to reattach that hose - pretty simple, so dive in!
