15" tires

are always a problem... but Yoko may be there for us:

Yokohama's ADVAN Neova AD08 will replace the AD07 for 2009. The Neova first appeared in the U.S. market as original equipment on the Lotus Elise. That honor alone qualified it as a tire to be considered by the demanding automotive enthusiast. The new tire improves dry grip, wet grip and mileage. It's street civil, but track approved. For the performance inclined, the AD08 improves on the AD07's lap times, by a half second for every minute, says Yokohama. The improvements are achieved with a new micro silica compound, steel sidewall inserts and revised tread pattern. The result is quicker steering response, improved stability and a larger contact patch while cornering. The tire maintains its treadwear rating of 180 and will be offered in a wider range of sizes than its predecessor; 32 sizes, ranging from 205/50-R15 to 295/30ZR-19.

What sizes? Miata folks can help with tire recommendations for 15". Most common on Miata are 195 50 15 or 205 50 15.

I am sure the size will be 205/50/15. That appears to be the performance size of choice.

Well you could also use 205/60/15's if they were sufficient for the performance needed. These are pretty common.

Thanks for posting - I'll keep an eye on this as tires might be in my future this season.

Cheers,

good info ---

I never thought that my biggest issue for my project would be TIRES.

Would like to keep my 15" BBS rims in 8" Front and 10" Rear
but 235s and 265s are a huge challenge in any ratio and a matched set.

Seriously considering Hoosiers and cutting a tread in them.

I did not say it was "everyone's choice". My point is that most performance tires in 15" these days come in 205/50/15. Many people would prefer other sizes, but they aren't there. I just got through with the process of finding performance tires for 15" and this was what I found.

My post was not intended to counter yours and I do not disagree, I apologize for presenting the opportunity for the misunderstanding. May you live long and prosper.
