CHT and engine temp

Hi,

I have an EMS ECU on a 3.0lt 79 engine. The issue is that I need to feed the engine temp to the ECU. At this time it is spliced into the wire to the dash guage. The dash works fine but the ECU is pegged at 180 deg C.

Has anyone else put a second temp sensor on the engine. I have a CHT installed but have not used it in the new wiring loom. Not sure how relevent CHT is to engine temp?

Any suggestions would be very much welcomed.

Thanks

Mark.....

I have experimented with various locations for the coolant sensor for warm-up enrichment and have found that the cylinder head temperature works the best. The primary oil temp location seemed to lag too much on both warm-up and cool-down.
