Front End Noise
I'm hearing and feeling a vibration/hum from the front end. It isn't always present and seems most apparent at higher speeds when turning the wheel slightly to the left (11 o'clock).
I'm not sure what it is but am tearing the front end apart in a month to replace some suspension pieces. I'd like to take care of it then but I have to find out what it is. Any ideas? |

My rear wheel bearing made an intermittent noise like a marble whirring around in a coffee can. Came out of the car in two pieces but the hub still passed the 12/6 & 9/3 wheel wiggle test. Even though the bearing split, the nut must have held it all together.
I'd check the fronts first, because they're easier, but it'll be one of the rears because they're a much bigger PITA. If that fails to be the case, the bearings behind the transmission sideplates might be suspect. |
