oil pressure stay in 5 bars

Car is 87 3.2 carrera, turn the ignition on without crank the motor, pressure gauge shows 5 bars, fire it up also stay in 5 bars any idea whats going on

The wire on the oil pressure sending unit might be loose or disconnected. Carefully and thoroughly clean terminal post and wire plug making sure there is solid contact between the plug and terminal. That's what fixed mine.

This has been discussed within the last two weeks. Do a search for a ton of good info on how to diagnose and replace the sender if needed.

I just went though this problem My sender was bad.

Pegged Oil Pressure Reading?





If your sender / sensor is indeed bad read this thread it will save you alot of trouble.
