Ok Gunter, here is what I read. in 1978There were two options of 911. theturbo and the SC. The SC rated at 180 HP. The 2.7 liter was no longer used. The Turbo used the 3.3 and pushed 300 horses.

in 1979 the 3.0 Liter SC engine received modifications increasing thehorsepower to 188. and improved fuel efficiency by 10%. In 1980 the horses were pushed up to 204 for ROW but US cars dropped to 172 with the emission stuff.

the 6th gen 911 in 1984 pushed up to 200 horses

Lokking at the Red Book, the RoW '79 had 188 but the US version 180.
In 1980, RoW 204 and the US 180.
Looks like US SC's '78-'83 had 180 HP throughout, RoW slightly better according to the Red Book.

Saw your car today - on Johnson near the bypass. It looks and sounds great.

3.2ss

I had a chance to really get on it today. I was being chased by a little blue 911t with a gulf sticker on the hood. Man was that fun. I have it into the shop for a valve adjust and final check up. I cannot wait to run it over the 5k RPM. It is a totally different car now. It is running really rich at the moment. I figure I'd leave the adjustment to the expert tomorrow.

Good to hear your car is runnin well. Man, that is three Pcars in the FDL area and I was all over Milwaukee today and did not see one.

Porsche 911 Buyer's Guide (Leffingwell) show's all SC models 79-83 as 172 HP SAE. The ROW models were 202 if memory serves.

With a cat bypass, an opened up stock exhuast (1 in one out, debaffled), a k and n, and a cut out airbox, my 82 SC dyno;s at 185 HP and 215 ft pounds of torque. With a cat and stock airbox, it is 175 and 207. With the cat and the opened up air box, it is 176.4 and 209. Every little bit helps.
