Porsche Crest Auto Heat Sensor Wiring

I have been reading many threads on the forum on how to repair the auto heat system fitted to my 1984 Carrea. I have discovered that the wire from my control unit on the tunnel and the interior heat sensor between the sun visors is cut. I have managed to trace the wire along the floor but loose it under the A/C evaporator noting this is a RH drive car. Could someone please explain the route that this wire takes from the cabin up to the roof.

Well, the only way the wire can get up to the top of the windshield is to go up one windshield pillar or the other. Get into the rear corners of the front luggage compartment and fish around for a single (double?) wire that heads up the pillar.

Then again, it is entirely possible that the wire enters the pillar from inside the cabin, so pull back thea carpet up in the corners and fish around there.
