Which clutch???
I need to order a new clutch, pressure plate and throw out bearing.
I was looking at the Sachs clutch kits since that was already on the car but now there is an aluminum kit. What is the consensus? Any help would be appreciated. Mike |

wow
Ok so that new clutch looks really good but how does it perform.
I think that I will probably put in the SACH's aluminum as I was thinking originally but may think about that next time. Thanks for the input. |

$1,800 is a LOT... luckily, Webb's First Law of Repair is still in effect (states that I will always completely rebuild a part of the car 1-2 years before the latest & greatest comes out - see e.g. polybronze bushings; new 12 wire distr. caps, etc. etc.)

I had to replace every part of the clutch anyway (it was a give away when I did the sporto conversion - and at the end of it's useful life, it was just enough to get me by).
I noted the complete Sachs kit was north of a grand plus shipping anyway. This was really only a few hundred more... I guess I'm just a sucker for pretty blue anodise.... ![]() I'll do a write up an give my thoughts on it once my box rebuild is done and back in the car.

I have the Sachs "power clutch" with aluminum PP. It has no trouble with the 300+ hp my motor puts through it....

Stock sachs......... replaced mine last month. It is glorious. I was going through the same mind games you're going through right now but I figured that my stock clutch lasted for 25 years and 90k' miles......I think it proved itself so I replaced it with the like and saved myself a couple hundred $$$$$.

Looking forward to your impressions John!
Knowing Wevo/Hayden - it has to be pretty nice or they just would not make it... |

Price is an issue
Yes I looked at the options and I think that I am going with the SACHS Power.
It originally had the normal SACHs pressure plate and clutch so I was figuring lighter weight would probably be better. Thanks for the help guys Mike |

Get the Sachs lightweight alloy clutch housing if you want something slightly lighter than stock that won't blow up your wallet. cstreit used this clutch for many years on his 3.4L (3.0L SC-based) 300hp race engine. Never had a problem with slippage or performance.
Otherwise stick with the stock stamped steel clutch from Sachs. You certainly can't go wrong with that. Plenty of torque capacity for a stock, or even modified SC engine.
