It could be several things, AAR, vacuum leaks, incorrect tuning to compensate, etc. , more likely an air problem than a fuel problem. Is this a new problem and did it happen without changing anything? The first thing I would look at is the vacuum hoses at the distributor and the ignition timing. The idle speed is set with the vacuum retard connected and if the diaphragm or hose leak, the hot idle will climb.
