BBs / Mahle rim help

Looking for some info from the rim "experts"

I have BBs / Mahle rims on my 75 911 (930 body) the rear are 9" and the front 8".
Both the rear and one of the fronts have the rim "info" on the lip.

One of the fronts has the "info" right near the lug nuts.

Is this a different year / series ?

For some reasion the odd man out seems to have a painted and clear coated lip and center ???

I want to refinish to dull look so was thinking of sand / media blasting, and painting the center black, and just living with the one being different.

(But being a bit type A ...I would know ...)

info / sugestions ?
If I go with black centers on the rims ...what is your feedback on center cap ...chrome / paint / ???

Well I am going to update my own post...

Still not quite sure of the differences ... but have found a local wheel expert shop that has done DE-anodizing before.
They will clean, blast, de-anno, "machine finish the lips and, powder coat the centers for 185 per wheel ...Ohh and FREE dismount / mount / balance.

Good deal ???

The Mahle wheels are older than the wheel with the info in the center. But both wheels are good solid quality wheels so no worries there. Obviously your only concern would then be that they don't match. No biggie.

I think the price on the wheel refinishing is decent. But you should check with Al Reed in CA (sorry, don't have his contact info. handy, but a search here will produce it) for his price. I bet his price will beat your quote. MANY people on this forum have used him and he does very good work for a reasonable price. His work is not absolute perfection, but his work is still high quality, quick turnaround and an all around great service to the Porsche community.

I decided to refinish the wheels myself.
What I thought was Anodize on one of the wheels was clear coat on polished lip.
I stripped the Clear Coat and with lots of elbow grease and testing different wire wheels and scrub-pads. (the final was a scrub pad used for restaurant flat top grills).
Not polished ... and the finish that I was after. I was so impressed with the GIBBS on my alt project I did finish the lip with Gibbs and, I am SO happy ..looks just like what I wanted.
Not sure if I will put a BBS or Porsche crest on the center cap ... I like the look as is ...
