Porsche to produce printed material again?

This was in today's Pano (May 2009):

Porsche has recently started to produce printed material again, including owners manuals and shop manuals.

Has anyone heard about this, and does anyone know if they will start printing those little technical manuals again? I would love to have one for my car but the price is pretty high, I've seen one for my 88 Carrera, well over 100 bucks, that was a year or two ago.

you can find it here:

How much different is the factory shop manual as compared to something like the Bentley? I always thought the factory manuals were multi-page volumes. Maybe they will start producing the parts CD again?

It appears Pelican can get them as entering the part number brings up description and price. Looks like a non returnable special order

Parts CD is now avaliable as a free download off of their web page:
http://www.porsche.com/usa/accessoriesandservices/classic/genuineparts/originalpartscatalogue/

Actually they show the CD as being avaliable for 5.95 euros.

Also the tech and spec books are avaliable here:
http://www.pelicanparts.com/catalog/shopcart/911M/POR_911M_TOLbks_pg2.htm#item11

Admitedly they are not as cute and compact as the originals, but they hold the same information.

Workshop manuals don't do an awesome job of explaining things. For a general home mechanic I'd buy bentley first, then if I had the cash laying around I'd get the workshop manuals.

Another on-line retailer has had them available from Porshe (reprints) for a long time. I bought a new owners manual for my '85 from them. Looks just like the factory, except shinier do a seach on my user name and you'll find the link someone else posted. however, if Wayne now has them, I'd buy through him, since he's sponsoring our forum.

Any part available from Porsche is available from Pelican. If you don't find it in the online catalog, simply search for the part number and you'll be able to add the part to your cart from the search results.
