Water through Ventillation ?

On my 71 I am getting water coming through my lower dash vents ( floor vents) after I wash it or in a big rain. Any ideas as to why and how to fix this?

I guess its coming from the vent near the hood and then travelling down to my feet.... ??

Thanks

Make sure the drain hose isn't clogged. It's the one that runs down into the smuggler's box and out the bottom of the car.

The Winshield gasket appears pretty new and I dont see any visible water coming through it on the inside of the car.

Ill check the drain.. Thanks!

Check the corner edges of the windshield gasket. A one year old gasket can leak, if car is left out in weather. Any gap at the corners is suspicious. There are lots of threads on water leaks here, do a search. About every possible offending component has been identified by someone else.

Also, check the trunk seal along the cowel. Water can flow over a worn seal and drip onto the connectors for the floor vents and leak into the passenger compartment. Test all suggested areas with a hose, starting at the lowest point first (cowel, air vent, windshield at lower corners, windshield at upper corners.) BTW, check to see if the drain hose from the airbox is cracked or disconnected, as well as being clogged.
