HELP Replacing Lens in H1 Headlight-I am stumped.
OK. I am stumped. I purchased an excellent condition H1 headlight without the lens. I purchased a new lens and lens gasket for the H1 headlight and I can't figure out how to get it in place. I can't figure out how to place the lens in the headlight. It appears that it must be installed from the inside of the headlight so I loosened the three long adjustment screws and they are off the threaded perches. I left the copper coily springy adjustment screw as is. I was hoping the guts of the headlight would simply pivot out of the chrome ring so I can replace the lens from the inside of the chrome ring but the guts of the headlight will not completely separate from the chrome ring. Am I missing something here? Am I on the right path and just missing one thing? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

You almost answered your question by yourself. Once you remove 3 of the 4 adjusters from the body, it will swing out and allow you to place the lens in the ring. It's a bit dicey, buy you're on the right track. Just be patient with the thing.

Also you need to remove the wire springs, I think there are seven springs that hold the reflector to the ring.

Success!
Gentleman, thanks for your replies. Lens installed fairly easily thanks to your confirmation about just completely loosening the large three adjuster screws. I did not know for sure whether I had to screw around with the brass/copper spring type adjuster or not. I didn't want to mess with it if it was not necessary because posts on the forum prove this one is most likely to break. Milt's confirmation gave me the confidence to remove the chrome ring from the body and complete the job. Thanks again.
