901 trans questions

Hello forum!

I would like to get a 901 to fit in a non-Porsche application.
I have an offer for a 902/1 and a 901/5 I have found info for the 902/1 but nothing for the 901/5.

Also can anyone please let me know which is better aluminum or mag case ?
Also alumium case can take a guard LSD (not TBD)

Thank you,

The aluminum case is stronger than the Mg. Mg case will be noticeably lighter. Application will depend on the amount of power you want to put through.

I think 901/05 is a special order gearset. Could be just about anything in side. I have seen /05 boxes with standard AFMSX and also full hill climb gears.

the aluminum case should fit any 901 differential. Dimensionally these are the same as the Mg cases. However, there were different differential assemblies with different output shafts. make sure you get a matching setup when shopping for an LSD>.
