Plug Vacuum Advance?
I've got a 76 911s with a 1978 3.0L engine & 915 transmission with California emissions equipment. My question is, should the vacuum hose to the distributor be detached and plugged while setting the timing?

Thanks for the quick reply. Confirming...detaching the vacuum and plugging is the procedure for setting the timing at idle...how about when conducting the dynamic procedure at 6000 rpm?

Detached is for the dynamic test....6000rpm should be at 24 to 31 degrees. At idle, it does not need to be unplugged.
