7&9x16 with 205/245's is the best fit.

I just bought 7&9's and have 225/265 Kumho XS's coming. I will probably need max neg camber, roll front fenders, and maybe small spacers on the back at the right ride height.

Might make more sense to save the money required for 8" fronts and use it for strut tops so you can get more front neg camber to make the 205's bite better.

Not an expert on this. :)

Who is selling 225 Kumho XS's ?

Nuts are the same.

Check out TireRack.com all the tires and approved rim widths are listed there.

The 16x7 and 16x8 wheels in front are sort of hit and miss. Some people can run 205's on 7's with no rubbing, some rub. My friend's '86 with 205/55 on 16x7 rubs on the inner wheel well (not the fender lip), but his has experience some accident damage. So not a very good data point.

Some people can run 225/50 on 7's with minimal mods. Some need to go to the full-on fender roll and increased neg camber. One certainty here is the 951 16x8 requires you to increase neg. camber and roll the fenders.

The 225/50-16 tire is the most common choice because it's so widely available. But there are better choices. 225/45 and 215/45 are candidates because they have a shorter/smaller overall diameter and therefore give you more fender clearance. 215/45 is not a size most manufacturers supply. The 225/45 is even less common. Do a search at Tire Rack or Tires-Easy.com and you'll see only a handful of tires to choose from.

Also take note how the load rating of the tire decreases as it's aspect ratio gets smaller. Meaning, the 225/45 and 215/45 have a noticeably lower load rating than the obligatory 225/50. I don't know what the front tire minimum load rating would be for our 911s
