droopy tailpipe
The tailpipe on the muffler does not seem to be sitting up high enough. I checked all connections and hangers, can't find the problem. Am I missing something? What else can I check? Seems like the muffler is sitting at a slight angle. It's a Dansk muffler. btw, I realize the rear valance is trashed, came that way from the PO, I will be replacing soon. If anyone has a extra valance PM me.

I'd say loosen the straps and pull the right side down. That will raise the LS. I don't know what the actual cause might be. Could be bent as a part of some damage caused by the PO.
Take the muffler off to see, or shim it down from the topside. |

Had a hard time aligning both tailpipes to be at the same height when i installed a Fabspeed
dual outlet muffler recently... What i found is that you can loosen the cat converter at the manifold and you have some "give" that will let you raise your mufler while still bolted to the cat then retorque your cat bolts while prying up on your muffler. In my case i also installed an MK premuffler with all new stainless hardware so i was able to fine tune the tailpipes to even heights using that method ! |

Just to add a little note... i had to cut and grind ALL the bolts in order to remove the original cat so don't bother trying unless you have a high speed air grinder with a thin cutting wheel and some rotary files to grind off the nuts which will allow you to drive the remaining bolt shanks out !

Ah, yes, you will have to loosen the bolts going up the driver's side, too. Good point.

I have a stock muffler that drooped. The last time I had my engine out, I noticed that the mounting bracket was broken. Maybe this is part of the problem?

+1 on motor mounts. One of the guys at the autocross was talking about how his tail pipe was hanging low. He check everything and found the motor mount bolts were loose. A few more miles and something bad would have happened.
