Hello there, all you fans of the hydro-pneumatic strut!
I posted about this a while back and it looks like there was some interest in a 911E Registry site. I thought I'd go ahead and try to get it started. It's definitely going to be simple at first. I'm a web developer by trade, but unfortunately I don't have my own server, so I'm limited to HTML and Javascript on a Geocities site. Chris C. (Cambellcj) volunteered to host the site before, so maybe we can team up and get our own address and a backend DB. But for now, why don't you E-car people just post the following info right to the board: -chassis # -engine # -manufacture date (the one stamped on the driver's side) -original paint code -body style (coupe, targa, etc.) -current engine -current mileage -current color -your name -your city and state (country if not US) -homepage link if you have one -email address if you want it displayed -comments about your car Please feel free to add to the list or make suggestions. You can send small (less than 50k) pictures. Here's what the site looks like now. Again, it's very simple and straightforward. We'll get fancy as we move along. You'll only see three years (with my car in each one!) but of course I'll be filling out the site as I hear from you guys. Please don't hesitate to make suggestions - I just threw the site together this morning so there's plenty of work yet to be done. Right now I'm most interested in just collecting the data. Sander:
Does this include project cars? Mine is all in pieces & a bunch of things like color, engine, etc. will be changed. Plus, it's going to be a long time before I finish it, considering the lack of time I seem to have. ------------------ Marv Evans '72 911E |

Project cars are fine!
Don't sweat it if you don't have all the info yet. I think the chassis #, your name, and current location are really the most important things. ------------------ '71 911E with Webers Golden Gate Region PCA http://www.geocities.com/edrecinto/ |

sander, Wow this is great! I'm headed there to register in a few. Glad to hear that project cars are acceptable candidates as my '70E needs all kinds of work! Will we be able to post pictures? If I score a digital camera then I will post pics as my project takes shape. Long live the 'E'!!!!

Peter, go ahead and post all your info and your picture to this thread (you can't currently register directly on the site).
I'll lift all the data from here and transfer it over to the site. |

sander, OK here's most of it...VIN # 9110220587, date of manufacture 12/69, coupe, 2.2E (type 911/01), odometer stopped at 98K miles, Albert blue, Peter Sarmany, Flagstaff, Arizona, sarmanyp@yahoo.com (or psarmany@yahoo.com). Currently undertaking engine/transaxle removal, teardown and inspection. I'll get the engine number and paint code for Albert blue over the weekend.

I actually did go ahead and register the domain name 911ERegistry.org and can host an E registry site if you wish. I have my own servers, so no size limits, good bandwidth and no banner ads. Unfortunately (well, I guess it's fortunately, in the grand scheme of things...$$$=good) my work suddenly has picked up so I don't really have much time to build up the site content right now.
I'll post my info ASAP. Gotta get ready for the track now! [This message has been edited by campbellcj (edited 06-08-2001).] |

Just wanted to let you guys know I've added your information to the site. Once we move over to Chris' server, I think it will be easier to incorporate car comments and pictures...
