Big Bear VII - 06/06/2009

It's about that time of the year again! I'm starting this thread a bit early to try and drum up interest and find a suitable date in June. Last year was a disappointment for me, the turnout was less than stellar. This isn't about fast driving! It's about a group of people driving together and having a good time for a few hours.

Let's get a big group again!

Clear the date, mark your calendars, send the wives to the spa....

****THE DATE IS 06/06/09 (Saturday).****


LOCATION: STARBUCKS IN REDLANDS
ADDRESS: 627 Orange St., Redlands, CA 92374

"Start at Starbucks in Redlands (627 Orange St., Redlands, CA 92374). Proceed up Highway 38 to the Big Bear area. Once in town, we'll make a right on Stanfield Cutoff (crossing the east edge of the lake to the north side). We'll turn left on North Shore Drive and then immediately left again into the MWD East Boat Ramp for a scenic rest and pictures. Past runs have used this parking area and it looks to be the best one available.

Every time I went skiing I said I should take the old girl up there in the summer.

One catch though, part of the road has really gone to crap. It'll be bumpy for 2-3 miles. Still worth it, but bumpy.

Yes, about half a day. Drive up as a group, meet for brunch and everyone is on their own after that.

Problem was that there seemed to be some sort of SoCal Porsche/car event just about every weekend of June, last year. Other than scottb's birthday plans, anyone else know of any other Saturdays in June that won't work?

Oh - The NARP group generously offered to make use of their cabin up there and we could have a nice BBQ.... If this is the case, we'll also have to decide who is bring what.
