Anyone ever seen or heard of this place? I think it nets out to about $5K american. Just curious as I may someday want to do a back date to my SC.

We'll sell you a complete kit, inc the ducktail, properly proportioned bumpers (look how poor that kit has their rear bumper for example) new euro lenses front /rear, backdate hood, new horn grills, new turn signal front buckets, and our new weld on backdate steel extensions for 3000 right here in the USA

It's a shame I'm in europe, shipping would kill the costs for me but those new weld on extensions sound sweet! What price would I be looking at to get those delivered to the Netherlands? I've been wanting to backdate my SC since I got it over 3 years ago...

If you're going to back date your SC do it properly.

This kit is not the way to do it. It's similar to the kits in the 80s to update long hoods
to C2 look. They were advertised in Excellence near the back page.

We just completed the first sets of the weld on extensions, so no pics on our site. Will post some pics tomorrow . Since each is hand made, they are a little costly at $800 a pair.
Postage to the
Netherlands would be in the $60 range?

There are other options to our fiberglass backdate hood style. You can purchase the front trunk panel , lower latch, early seal. and new cable from the Porsche dealer. Then utilize a stock steel 65-73 hood

That doesn't sound too bad... Finding a pair of original fenders is a lot more costly.
I'll try and find an early hood locally and go from there. Let me know when you have some pics. This sounds like the way to do it for me!

The manufacturer admitted it was a "hurried" production, but I'm with you on this one...looks bad.

The whole article was on "budget backdating"...yet I think that was merely an excuse to show off a couple of cars. If they did a real article on "budget backdating", I think they could find better examples. As someone who has often considered (and will consider again) a "budget" backdate, I found the article disappointing. I'd love to see an American Porsche mag do a good article on the subject.

..are you listening Excellence?!?

Ugh.... The bumper that incorporates the turn signals is FUGLY.... Clever, but it's awfully done...

I'll vouch for TRE as well... The backdated hood works well...

How did they sell a kit in the 1980's for a C2 look when the C2 didnt come out until the 1990's?

Here are pics of our handmade weld on extensions. Each one is fitted with the horn grill and turn signal assembly to ensure a good fit.

comments welcome

Damn! where these two years ago when I paid 2k for a pair of early fenders, one of which required major surgery to be usable?

Very impressive...

Do you have photos of them welded onto the fenders before paint?
I'm curious to see how they look installed.
