Paul Weir Porsche in Seattle: What's up?
Drove by their location the other day and saw the parts/working bays being cleaned out; almost everything gone. I know they have an engine rebuilding facility nearby, but could not discern if it too was being packed up.
Anyone know what's up? Jdub |

I heard he filed for bankruptcy....don't give him any cash....8^)
Oh yeah...probably not a good idea to drop your car off at a place where the Marshall/Sherriff is hauling off equipment... [This message has been edited by mikez (edited 01-09-2001).] |

Just received a flyer from Paul Weir "Expert Porsche Service" - seems they have moved their service department into their motor building location one block away - apparently open for business.

In regards to P Weir , I requested a quotation last week and it was delivered by mail Friday in a professional binder . My discussions with customer service have not indicated anything other than a consolidation into single location .

Please let me know how your experience goes. Mark is a nice guy, he helped me tremendously in purchasing my Targa circa '78. However, their leakdown numbers including a 95% on #1 could not be duplicated by two other shops (they found 15%). So I passed on their service for the time being.
Did tour their engine rebuilding facility. It is plain that they have everything they need to do a solid job on an engine/trans rebuld. As always, it is the hands and brain of the tech. that ultimatly determines how well the engine is rebuilt. They had an engine on the dyno. (is it technically a dynometer?) when I was there. That's how I want my engine tested prior to reassembley. Jw |
