Randy,
Great idea! I will be there. Maybe a group ride thru Niles Canyon, after the meet? http://www.pelicanparts.com/pmpre/images/N11Porsche/P-Car2.jpg Bill Carcot 1979 911SC Diablo Region, P.C.A. [This message has been edited by N11Porsche (edited 06-05-2001).] |

Good Idea, Niles it is, a stop at the mid point to chat, and then on thru....
Should be a blast! Imagine the faces on the other folks on the road as all these lovely german machines massage the pavement. Randy ------------------ Friends don't let friends drive RICE! 1978 911 SC |

Tim, Don't worry about it. Niles Canyon road always has heavy traffic. Palomares road (which runs through the hills north from Niles Canyon road to I580) on the other hand doesn't.

Another fun ride in the area is Patterson Pass Road between Livermore and Tracy. It's a little narrow in spots but less traffic than Niles and a lot of curves.

Is anyone coming down from Sacramento?
I think I will be leaving Folsom around 6:00 - 6:30. I should get there around 7:30 or 8:00 a.m. and will probably leave after we meet for lunch. email me if anyone is interested in commuting or caravanning. ------------------ Nick Hromyak '85 Carrera 7 & 9 Fuchs Havin' Fun in Sacramento |

The thought just struck me; some of us never met except in Pelican Parts Cyberspace and how are we going to recognize eachother other than nametags with our cybernames or something.
I don't want to ask everyone who drives a 78 SC or 85 Carrera if they are so and so...and if you're not in your car, have you lost your identity? Any ideas? Joe alias stlrj [This message has been edited by stlrj (edited 06-06-2001).] [This message has been edited by stlrj (edited 06-06-2001).] |

Hi folks,
I've been dying to go to my first swap meet, but there's also an SCCA AX that day. I should be done by about 1:00. How long doest that swap meet last? I couldn't find any info on their site about the event... ------------------ '71 911E with Webers Golden Gate Region PCA http://www.geocities.com/edrecinto/ |

Swapmeets in general, the earlier you get there, the better deals you will find.
I have found most good deals are to be had at first light and into 8:00 a.m. I think most sellers will have left by 1:00. I think all sellers will leave by 3:00 p.m. My past Partsheaven swapmeet, people and sellers were leaving at 11:00. This is not a very big Porsche Swapmeet. You can walk through it pretty fast, hence, people don't stay very long. I have gone to the Pomona swapmeet when I am down there. I usually stay in these until 1:00 p.m. Pomona's swapmeet is a little bigger. Best deals are found as soon as you can talk to the seller! Sometimes the night before and into the wee hours of 4a.m. Now that I wrote this, I think I better leave earlier. BTW: I should be wearing my red PORSCHE hat. I have a medium (red) goaty beard. C-ya there! ------------------ Nick Hromyak '85 Carrera 7 & 9 Fuchs Havin' Fun in Sacramento [This message has been edited by nhromyak (edited 06-06-2001).] |

Nick,
How about wearing a name tag saying "nhromyak". I'll have "stlrj" on mine. Joe [This message has been edited by stlrj (edited 06-06-2001).] |

You need code phrases...
Person 1: "The fat Pelican walks at midnight..." Person 2: "Too bad. He should have upgraded his tensioners..." |
