73 E quit

I replaced the fuel pump after the car came out of storage and quit on me a few weeks ago. Blew out all the lines, cleaned fuel screen in tank. Started car with fresh fuel and turned right over but ran really rough and died a few times. After the old fuel cleared the mfi pump and new fuel started to burn the car started to run real well for having set all winter. I shut it off after letting it run for a couple of minutes and restarted it a few more times, it started right up, then I did some cleanup for about 1\2 hour and tried to start again to move it but it won't fire again. Seems to not be getting fuel. I have not checked spark. Any thought?

Thanks Tom

I would pull a fuel line and see if the pump is still pumping. perhaps crap in the tank jammed the pump? (just an uneducated guess)

Clean up? As in using water? Tell us more, we can't be clairvoyants.

I'd be curious to know what the fuel tank screen looked like. If it was plugged with sludge, your tank may be the problem.

Well, check spark and fuel. For spark an old spark plug grounded to the engine block and hooked up to one of the spark plug wires will do while an assistant cranks. For fuel someone mentioned you can crack the connection of one of the injectors a little bit. Once you loosen that connection fuel should be leaking out one you lift the plate in the CIS metering housing.
