Question Tire and wheel question?

I have a 88 carrera with the stock fuchs 15/7 front with p195/65r tires and 15/8 rear p215/60r tires. Can I run 15/8s with the same p215/60r tires on the front without problems?

dan i think they'd be 16x7/8's if stock?
8's may also be a bit wide for the front.

15 x7&8's are factory for the 88. The eights are to wide for the front unless you want to do a lot of modification or get a set of 951/944 offset 8's. Porsche used the staggered setup to help the balance by providing more traction for the rear end with larger tires. Using the same tire up front would throw that balance off. I used a 205/60-15 on the front with the 7" wheel and was close.
I switched to Rota 17's with 225/45 on a 7.5" wheel for the front and need to roll my fenders just a little bit to keep from rubbing. 255's on the rear.

It's not the that 8 is too wide, they just have the wrong o/s for use on the front of a n/b car. rear 911 8s are ET10.6, for use on the front of an SC/Carrera an 8 wants an ET w/ a minimum of 23.3mm, higher up to ~31mm is better

The Fuch 8s w/ ET23.3 came from early 944s

No, best unless you are buying another set of wheels is to change tires.

My C3 came w/ that set up 205/50 & 225/50 x15 tires worked great. You can also use 205/55 front

This is just an opinion but a 205/50/15 is a very short wheel. There are about 23" tall compaired to stock of about 25". This would not be my first choice and may require reseting your front end height.

Can work ok for an AutoX or track car though.
