speaker questions
What size speakers will fit in the rear deck?
my '70 does not have any speakers in the back and I wanted to put some on without having to cut the metal on the back deck, how have you guys done this? |

bb:
Get a later model rear deck with the room for a set of speakers. I just reupholstered my rear deck. Note that some decks come with simply a piece of material with multiple holes in a grid under which go the speakers. Others have a nice grille-like area. I cannot say for sure that the retrofit will work OK, but I am pretty sure the rear deck in my '78 was not stock (maybe a factory option for that year?). Jw |

I'm not sure what the '70 rear deck looks like, but I just replaced my rears on my '83SC. I used 4x6 Eclipse speakers- they were the only one's thin enough to fit.
Best of Luck, Magilla |

Alpine plate style (4x6 plate with woofer and tweeter) speakers will fit.

but will I have to cut holes into the metal? my rear pad only seems to be about 1-1/4"
that doesn't seem to be deep enough. |
