I use my phone when I need it regardless of who's around.

Women like expensive things: Hmm...we all know that, too bad they can't earn those expensive things themselves.
The green is mine, but remember, it's the "woman's era"
Avon Commercial: "Behind every great woman are more great women."
My response:
"Good, cause I thought I was gonna have to pay for your dinner tonight. In your greatness, pay for mine."

I could go on about how Bill "The Corrupt"
Clinton was elected via the votes of women, and that women should actually only get 1/2 a vote, so that it takes 2 senseless bundles of illogic to cancel one man's vote, but I won't.

Now let's talk about Porsches.

Life is good ain't it?

You just made me remember a line from Heinlein's Number of the Beast...something like:

"I have nothing against allowing women to vote, we just never should have taught them to speak!"

Kurt, your words are so incredibly offensive and non-PC, any lesser human reading them might likely explode. Please don't stop. It's refreshing.

I'm a very feminist, open-minded guy. I was thinking about this very subject a couple of days ago. I was in my 911, plugging my cell phone in. I put on my $270 Serengeti Aviators, and adjusted my leather trenchcoat, reveling in the feel of the black leather jacket on my black leather seats. I glanced at my $300 Swiss Army Officer's watch, and set my laptop on the floor, so it wouldn't hit my stereo or radar detector in a crash. I made sure my PDA was in the laptop bag too...it's sometimes hard to see its black leather case inside the black leather case of the laptop.

I was on my way to the airport to jump in a rented airplane for a little jaunt around town, having gotten my private pilots' license a couple of years ago.

Yep, I'm a modern guy. Women are great. And they deserve as much of an opportunity as I do.

Heh. Hope my wife isn't reading this board from her desk right now...

I don't have much to complain about though. My wife's the one who yells at the TV when some feminist comes on and starts spouting dogma.

She also helped me with my tranny oil change last weekend and touched up rock chips in the paint while I tore my hair out over the stinkin' bolt for the pedal cluster vertical brace.

Plus, she doesn't ask to drive the car. A keeper.

Oh, don't misunderstand me. I appreciate the woman's perspective, and contributions. I got a keeper too, though she does nothing to the car, including driving it, which is fine. What I have a problem with is this backlash stuff that degrades men's approach and contributions. It was cute for the first decade, and tolerable for the second, but I've lost my sense of humor now, for jokes about men.

Damn, I must be dreamin'. My wife is the one that wanted the boat, the Big Screen TV, the BMW and she even talked me into buying the Porsche (not that I didn't want one). And no, I'm not lying. As much as anyone can bash women (I know we're only joking) I can't complain one bit.
And if your reading this "honey" I want a Turbo Tie Rod kit and a 3.6 RS tail for my birthday.

Women may appreciate fast cars, but it is obviously not a necessity. After all, you got a woman, didn't you Obin?

jbanks,

yeah, i'm damn lucky because Jess is the one that helped me to buy the 924, the 944, and she chose the Scirocco 16V.

i am SOOOO lucky that she LIKES race cars, sports cars, and approves of all the $$$ spent on the Porsches.

not so was the case with my previous girlfriends. that's why i'm marrying this one

Look out, when you marry them, they let their real personality come out. I bet her father is the CEO of some anti-combustion engine coalition. She'll probably stop all Porsche funds as well

911 crowd-
If you have been married several times, does that make your car really fast?

When I saw a 930 I was interested in I said 'I will wait until my current car has sold and then start looking', she chipped -in and said 'why not buy the new one and wait for the old one to sell!'
Hmm..... 2 porsches, an 86 cab and now a 930 coupe!.
Life is good!

At least fifteen years ago, my wife told me I should drive a Porsche. She was kind of just making a statement of fact, based on her understanding of my style of motoring. In late 1999 when I was considering buying a nice car, she was very supportive of the Porsche idea. She'd like me to focus right now on stuff besides Porsches, but she's still very supportive.

Funny thing is, I've found that when you love someone, you want them to have theri needs met, whether or not you understand them. I question the motives of people with antagonistic agendas. Make sense? Anyone with kids will probably understand this. Anyone with a pain-in-the-@$$ fiance should listen up!

My 2 cents,

Actually, my experience has been the following: though it seems apparent that women dig guys who drive fast cars, especially Porsches, the feeling is fleeting when they realize that I love the car more than life itself! However, I must come to the defense of my wife. This generalization works well in the jungles... I like to think of myself and fellow P-car as a little beyond the "mine's faster bigger and better than yours" thought process. My wife has consistently supported me in the ownership of my car. God bless America!!! (even though I'm French) hehe!!! Oh and well she always calls me sexy man in da Porsche when I drive by the house (gingerly at 10 mph...) She understands ..love me love my Porsche!

You know, most of the time men just wish women would actually SAY what they MEAN, instead of speaking in code and then blaming us for not being able to understand them. You get a group of women together, and invaribly the talk will get around to men, and how "they'e all alike-they only want one thing!" Well, DUH. We're MEN-that's what we do. We're not ashamed of it-why should we be? At least we're honest about it-we don't say we "just want a sensitve, caring woman" when we really want a Playboy centerfold. We'll come right out and say it. Women will go to great lengths to say everything BUT what's really on their minds-is it because they change their minds so much, they never know themselves? "Nice guys finish last"-we've all heard that, and nowhere is it truer than when dealing with the opposite sex. Women don't WANT a "nice guy". Don't believe me? Go back and read the article again. Women want rich jerks-you know it, I know it, THEY know it-but you'll never hear them admit it. Compare a Peace Corps volunteer with a millionaire rap "artist" -and I use the term "artist" very loosely here- which one has all the fine honeys hanging all over him, despite the fact that he treats them like trash? Geez....
