Oregon Coast Garage Find: 72 T coupe

I'm looking over a 72T coupe today that has been stored for over 15 years. The seller has owned this car for over 25 years. Health reasons put the car in storage. Only started up a few times in that period. Has not been driven in 10 years. Has 61,245 miles on it. Had it flat bedded over to my shop for a good look. It will need some work but not as bad as I thought it would be. I need some opinions on what a good price would be to offer them. I think this come close to a barn find. Some photos.

Wow, it looks pretty nice!
Better than a driver, but not exactly a runner (yet).
As far as a price goes, I really don't have an idea other than I would pay 15K+ for it if I had 15k+ to spend on an early car that needs work.

I really enjoyed the Excellence article on your 356!

Looks nice, but it's been very close to the salt air.....If that's not an issue, 20K is about right I think..........

10k would be better, considering it needs quite a bit of work. prices are down from their highs the last few years. money's tight and nobody's buying stuff unless it's a deal.

At first I thought it was the car mentioned in this link:
72 Sepia T Coupe not mine - Early 911S Registry Bulletin Board

Apparently that one sold for less than asking and it was a running car. Not being driven for 10 years and rarely started would encourage me to offer in the sub $15K range given the anticipated cost of going though the engine/MFI/brake systems--all else being in good shape, as it appears to be in the photos. Definitely looks to be a real find, however. Good luck.

Other pelicans suggested 20K. I don't see any mention of an asking price at all.

Hopefully the seller is not reading this forum. I know of another car, a '70S sepia brown " 100% in parts" that sold recently for 10K .............

As the owner of a sepia '72 911T Targa I sadly have no insight as to
price, but think it's a beautiful looking car. Good luck!

Mark,
Good luck on the T. I'd place it's value at 12K, as a non-runner in decent shape. $7500 will be a very nice deal, with lots of room for fix-up $.

Regards,

Al

I would curious of the VIN. I have a '72T that was once in Sepia, that I bought in the NW (Seattle) 18 years ago. '72 Ts in Sepia Brown must have been very popular. YMMV

BF Goodrich T/A's ! With the T/A's on it you know it has been sitting for a long time.

Mark, as you know the Oregon Coast is not a Porsche friendly environment but that 72 must have been stored in a quality structure to look as good as it does.

Are you going to have to sell that outlaw 356 to make room for the long hood?
