What about Bursch
I would like to have opinions on Bursch exhaust system. I bought a 1 in/1out from a fellow Pelican and I want to purchase the catbypass from Bursch. They state it is not street legal. Is it because of the extra sound or emissions because cat is bypass.
And the sound, is it loud or too loud. |

Because you remove the cat. Emissions.
I had one (Bursch) w/ a generic bypass on my old SC. It sounded great. Not too loud. Mellow. |

I had a 1 in 1 out bursch on my car with a euro pre-muffler. Had it on for about two weeks before I couldn't stand the "droning" during normal driving, was giving me headaches. But I will say, it did sound sweet at high RPMs, and at idle had a cool low rumble. I am considering throwing it back on when I put my cat back on, and seeing if maybe the cat removes some of the droning.

I have a Bursch bypass on my 86 with the stock 1 into one muffler. Sound is, as stated, very mellow with the loudest (if you can call it loud) sound being on deceleration. No worries about noise with it.

I run a Bursch cat by pass with a flowmaster 1 in 2 out. Loud, but I love it. Not street legal because of the emissions testing. That said, I pass every year with my bypass in place.

Have my Bursch 1-in 1-out with a gen cat bypass and agree with the above stated- sounds great! I've never had droning with my system in place. Now, when I roadtripped from CA to WI in 2 1/2 days, my ears were ringing for the better part of a week, but I never meant it to be a strict touring car

PS I'm trying to track down a drive-by video w/ sound clip since you're looking at pretty much exactly what I have set up.

I've got an Euro premuffler with a Bursch 1in-1out, modded airbox cover on an '87 cab. You can just barely tell at idle that something is different, from inside the car everything seems the same, even at highway speeds. However, when when you wind it thru the gears at WOT, it sounds SOOOOOOOOO sweet, settling back down as you get back to cruising.

I use Bursch headers with satisfaction, SSIs too but no dyno comparisons to state performance differences.

Bursch cat bypass, with Bursch 1-in1-out sounds great. Best bang for the buck in exhaust IMO. I would do it again

I have a generic cat bypass coupled with a 0ne in and 0ne out bursch performance muffler on my 1987 3.2 and it sounds awesome. Bought the bursch from Pelican and extremly happy.

+1 for the Bursch 1-in-1-out muffler. I just installed one on my '82 SC with the stock cat. I absolutely love it. Nice mellow sound and slightly louder than stock. It has a nice burble at idle now.
