refueling problem at the gas station
I am unsucessful at pumping fuel without the thing clicking off every time. I have tried different angles and still a problem. Is there a special angle the filler head is supposed to go? has anyone had the same problem?

I put very little of the tip in, and tip it up,, think like you are trying to use the tip to keep the gate open so air can get in while you are pumping...

Ditto.
I have the same problem. Feels like there is a flat surface only an inch below the opening that interferes with fuel flow. I back it out a bit and pump very slowly. It will still click itself off once or twice, but I guess it's a small price to pay (unlike the cost of premium these days). |

Turn the gas handle all the way around-180 degrees. It looks crazy, but works for my 85 carrera.

I just back it out about 1-2 inches and this usually works. I'll have to try the upside down thing sometime.

I have the same problem.... I have to hold the nozzle so the handle is pointing towards the mirror.... then I can fill right to the top

Have the same problem. Helps to put in the fuel slower than full speed and holding the filler vertical.

Same in the 88, pulling it out and changing the angle seems to work, pushing it in further seems to hinder.
