smog test, vapor recovery system test
has anyone had a 78 or 79 911 smog tested in the last few months & if so was the fuel vapor recovery system tested? the california the law states as i understand it that if accessable w/o removing parts. it would appear that a 911 test would be exempt due to location of equipment. anyone been tested since the new year?
thanks

I've had two cars tested, but not 911's. They do a visual check and a pressure test so I don't know about the "accessability" part as the only thing they need to access is the gas filler pipe along with the engine compartment.

for future searches my passing smog test did NOT require any recovery system pressure test. the stock exhaust, air pump & egr that have been reinstalled since sundee will come back off & head back to the wood shed until 2011 for cat preservation.....
my wrench every two year gives a tail pipe sniff pretest and is amazed at how clean the thing runs with all the components in place. passed again with plenty to spare. thanks for your experience ossi. t
