Refinish RUF RIMS
My car came with 17in RUf rims when i bought her.The rims are ok but the clear is peeling and even some of the center silver paint also.Does anyone know where i can take them in or around cleveland OH for repaint. Can i do this myself?Anodize an option?Any input would be nice!!I would prefer the center be changed to black to match the car and outer rim remain polished aluminum.

Mully,
The Ruf rims are built by Speedline, Italy. They are cast, and most probably can't be anodised. You could save a bunch by stripping them yourself and then having them repainted by a bodyshop. Ask for 2pack on the silver, and then the clear. Good time to color code the centers. That is the problem with these high end non anodised rims. Sooner or later, the paint will crack/strip/flake and then corrosion can set in. Nothing replaces forged (can you say Fuchs?) GeorgeK |

Cast! Cast! Darn, these were on my wish list... I guess I will stay with the Fuchs forged 16" wheels.
I find it hard to believe RUF would make such a high performance sportscar and put cast wheels on it??? ------------------ Adrian Pillow 1979 911 SC 1966 VW Microbus PCA - Peachstate Region |
