Spent 20 minutes standing in a parking lot discussing cars with rnln last night. (Wife fell asleep in the car...)

you guys are welcome. Thanks for your share and very nice to have a chance to chat about our cars. Sorry about your wife sleeping in the car, wayne. When it come to this topic, I just forgot the time and things around . Funny that we all have the same car/year.

Andy, nice meeting you. I was in the hurry, looking for another car's oil but couldn't find any there. My family were still in the store.

Thanks Jim!

Jim,

Thanks for response. I have heard so many good things about BP so wanted my engine to experience the benefits.

Here is a pic of my 74.

Mark

Detail Secret . . .

Just kidding, thanks for kind words, I simply wash with water or add a little car wash liquid, wax with Meguiars about 2 times a year, then use quick detailer in between. Driven weekly to coffees and drives in SoCal. Painted over 20 years ago in original color from factory and was done right.

Just a driver that I try to keep clean.

Thanks guys,
Quincy, please post your gain/feeling after your new 3.2 in. It should be excited to hear.
Thanks.

AshEven,
Your friend just picked up 2 cases for you, paid. He mentioned he's interested in a 911 too. Hopefully, we'll have another old 911 owner here
Thanks.

Thanks for the hook up and my first chance to use BP in my engine. Yeah, my buddy is a good guy and he is infected with the P Virus, soon he will totally crumble and be a caretaker of a long hood. P-Virus . . . .no cure and glad for it.

he also told me your car is shiny and lot of stuff done, lot of work.

Not sure if you experiencing it but I always see metal shave at my drain plug with valvoline and Castrol, Valvoline produced less. After switching to BP, I don't see it anymore. I do see wet at valve covers, but not sure if it's BP or the age of the gaskets. The good thing is the metal shave is gone, and also valve noice is much much less.

Car is bone dry STOCK except for SSI, Chain Tension, Pop Off, Carrera Valve Covers, Tranny rebuild (in advance) to address weak syncros in 1st, 2nd, replaced clutch, replaced sunroof motor, paint was repainted 20+ years ago. in original color all done by original owner.

My work done is to maintain high level of care/maintenance like original owner (electrical engineer) did. Hardest jobs for me was the replacement of brake master cylinder as had to remove and reinstall reservoir lines twice as did not seat properly the first time and weep, weep weep. Much smarter the second time so all is dry now. Also rebuilt pedal cluster.

Fortunately, no metal shavings from using either Castrol 20/50 or Swepco and expect same with BP.

no metal shaving at all with Castrol? umm.. I have talked to several people about this and got different responses. Do do and some don't, not sure how people look at it. The shave I got is not big and long as most of the pics post on the internet. It's like metalic shine. Sometimes not easy to see right away, but will show if you take the drain plug out to look at under the sun.
