A great addition for sure. I'll be visiting Maui on the 25th of this month and can't wait.

Now that is a beautiful Porsche!

It'd make a great Poster for the guy who makes your boards too!

BTW
I'm a 6'9" tri fin short board guy, but i do like the long boards too!!
My 1st was from a small surf shop in Sebastapol Ca, North Coast Surf Plus circa 1984..those were the days I'd love to revisit...

Maui rocks.. we were there for the first time last month... didn't rent a p-car though... had a G-Cherokee and drove some fine roads there... including where your not supposed to take your rental... Most fun was the road back from Hanna... I'll just say it was late in the day and the road was empty... we made very good time on the way back and I wished for a p-car... But the awd Cherokee has pretty good drive out of the corners when you are manually switching between first and second gear Ah rental cars. .. very cool fences around Maui !

Thanks for the compliments, I got some great looks a few people took some pictures of my car when I was up at North Shore today. My first time out on the board and my first time surfing. I did not get up and got thrashed around a bit. The waves were good, my balance was not, I will keep trying.

I hope that this thread will get a few more pics of some boards mounted.

Last summer in Tofino, BC...

I'd like to surf where I don't have to wear a full wetsuit + booties next time

Don't know how that'll work for reducing lift, but surely will help with aquaplaning.

Shouldn't the rudders be in the rear?

I actually asked this, It seems that the general consensus is to have the fins in the front, possibly so if the board was to slide back it would be stopped by the fins... most people say it makes no difference.

As far as reducing lift, I went around the Haliewa traffic circle and couldn't get the tires to break loose.

Couldn't Resist

snbush67 I had to post a couple of pics of my "wing". It has been owned by my brother and then me since about 1980 (bought for $25). It is a 7'6" single fin and has not been used since about 82 but makes a great conversation piece sitting in the corner.

Most people have no clue who he (Gerry Lopez) is but then they kinda remember when I inform them he was the little Asian looking guy running around with Arnold in Conan the Barbarian.

Couple friends have told me they would do me a "favor" and take this old thing off my hands, but....I think I will hold on for a while longer.

Anyway enjoy all the warm weather and remember it puts the lotion on its skin.

Gregg S.

I have a perfect balsa pin tail that Gary Linden made for me hanging in my office. He even carved For Howard _______ from Gary Linden in it for me when he made it. I have had it for about 17 years or so along with a couple of Big Guy Short boards that Gary did for me over the years. As I have gotten older I am pretty much a long board only guy these days. 9' high performance long board from Tim Nolte is my ride of choice last 6 or so years.

Went out to Haleiwa today, crazy action, waves are 6-8 feet, I think I am going to have to go find some smaller waves to get started, and maybe a lesson or two. Tomorrow I am headed to Bellows or White Plains, maybe some surfer Viagra.
