another elec gremlin

the tach in my 75 911s is 1000 rpms off is there a sensor or relay that regulates this?

Tach troubles

Bob, nice meeting you last Saturday at Watkins Glen. You mentioned that you had posted this issue, so I figured we'd resurrect it and see what solution could be found.
I think that if you were going to get it repaired, that North Hollywood would be your best bet.
But first, you mentioned that the tach shows about 1200 RPM higher than it should?
Can you confirm?
Has it always been like this? When did you first notice it? There are no other electrical gremlins?

What type of ignition system do you have? Is the car stock in that respect? I forgot to look when I saw your car last weekend.

Then this thread was linked, and it refers to tach troubles ..

Searching for "tach troubles" unearths (excuse the pun) these threads. Look at them and see if any are relevant to your situation.
