I believe the IDF's are 2 barrels and the IDA's are 3 Barrels. The IDF's are for the 4 cyl. cars, the IDA's for the 6's.

Actually they are just different designs. The IDF only comes in a 2 barrel but the IDA comes in both 2 and 3 variations.
