windshield washer pump

Dose the ww pump in my 87 911 serve both the windshield and headlights? or are there two pumps/one for each? thanks Philip

Take a look in the front left of your trunk. You should see two pumps.

I actually traced the lines and have the pump in the front of the trunk removed, the lines disappear into the left fender at the front, which I presume go to either headlight washer, but I can only locate one pump. Anyone know where to find a diagram of the routing? thanks Philip

The headlight washer pump on the '87 should be located on the washer reservoir itself which means you will not be able to see the pump from the trunk. The windshield pump should be located in the area JR describes.

Turns out someone has already rearranged this system. The fender mounted resivoir had a pumo mounted to the underside of the tank' which was not working. I dont know if this is stock? also the hoses had been rearranged so the pump in front beside the battery was fed from the resovoir under fender, and then to spray on the windshield. Mass confusion! but have it temporaly working now Philip

My '87 is only equipped with the windshield washers. No headlight washers are on my car- my front bumper is free of the little black sprayers that point at the headlights. The windshield pump is located in the left front of the car, ahead of the battery.
