megaphones on OEM HE. Is a support bracket not necessary?
I have a 2.4 MFI S engine. It has OEM heat exchangers on it. I just removed the sport muffler and put on two 24" megaphones. Looks great and sounds sinister.
The car is going vintage and PCA racing next month. I do not think I need to put a cross bracket to support the megaphones as they are not that heavy. Can anybody tell me why otherwise as the HEs are not going vibrate and break? The bracket in the picture is one from my old race car which had flowmaster cans attached to headers and of course now it is too short for the stingers. ![]()

Bill,
If you do not use a support bracket, they WILL crack and fall off. Guaranteed,... ![]()
